8 Day Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Flight to Israel

Day 2

Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport: We will proceed to Caesarea on the Sea. Caesarea is the site of one of Herod’s magnificent and opulent palaces. But most importantly it is the Mediterranean port from which the Apostle Paul departed on his many of his missionary journeys. At the end of his ministry he was taken from this port in shackles, heading to Rome the place where it is believed that he was martyred. Tel Megiddo: This Tel consists of twenty civilizations built one on top of another. The Jezreel Valley surrounds the Tel, giving the pilgrims an in-the-round view of where the Battle of Armageddon will take place. Nazareth: Jesus grew up in the village of Nazareth until his ministry began at the age of 30. In Nazareth the pilgrim will see the Basilica of the Annunciation, the location of Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s well. Overnight Tiberias - Hotel Dinner

Day 3

Bethsaida: Bethsaida was a small fishing village in the Galilee. It is said that Jesus was seen walking on the water from here. Capernaum: A fishing village which served as home during Jesus’ ministry. Visit the house of Peter, a disciple of Jesus. Also located in Capernaum is one of the oldest synagogue ruins in the Galilee. Mt. of Beatitudes: The Sermon on the Mount was preached at this location. It is one of the most familiar sections of the New Testament and it teaches the well-known lessons of the Beatitudes. Sea of Galilee: Enjoy a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee and then stop off at the Jordan River for a time of spiritual blessing and baptism. Overnight Tiberias - Hotel, Breakfast, Dinner

Day 4

Mt. Tabor: Pilgrims will visit the Basilica of the Transfiguration, the site where Jesus was transfigured. The view from atop Mt. Tabor is one of the most breathtaking panoramas in Israel. Zapori (Sepphoris): These ruins date back to the first Temple period and give the pilgrim an intimate view of the remnants of a complete pre-Roman Jewish town along with a Roman theatre. It is the home of the famous Mona Lisa of the Galilee. Mt. Carmel: Standing on top of Mt. Carmel the pilgrim will observe the place Elijah defeated the 450 prophets of Baal. In addition the pilgrim will observe from the top of the Muhraka Monastery another excellent view of the Jezreel Valley. Haifa: The breathtaking view of the Haifa Harbor can be captured from the beautiful Persian Gardens of the Baha’i Temple. Also found in Haifa is the Tomb of the Prophet Elisha and the cave that Elijah lived in. Overnight Tiberias – Hotel, Breakfast, Dinner

Day 5

Bet She‘an: This town has been inhabited for over 5000 years. God allotted this area to the tribe of Manasseh. It contains ruins from the Roman and Byzantine Periods. Mt. of Olives: The first stop after breakfast will be the Mt. of Olives where Jesus ascended into heaven. Take a moment to reflect back to that day and time while your eyes gaze upon the panoramic view of the Holy City. The presence of God is all about, cast your eyes toward the Eastern Gate, and envision the triumphant return of our Lord in all His glory. Garden of Gethsemane: It is here that you can walk and pray among the olive trees as our Lord did over 2, 000 years ago. What an impact this very night has had on the world; when the Son of God submitted to the will of his Father. Church of All Nations: The present-day church, built by the Franciscan architect Antonio Barluzzi, was inaugurated in 1924. In order to affect an atmosphere of anguish, the ceiling of the church was lowered by means of twelve domes strewn with stars on a blue background, olive branches adorning the corners. In addition, the light in the church was made softer by means of semi-opaque windows, and a portion of the original rock was left in its original form. The church was built over the Rock of Agony, according to tradition the rock next to which Jesus prayed to God that the "cup be taken from me." Overnight Jerusalem – Hotel, Breakfast, Dinner

Day 6

Western Wall: The pilgrim will have a wonderful time of prayer and meditation at Israel’s most sacred site. Let your request be known unto God and place the written prayers in the cracks between the stones. Rabbi’s Tunnel: This tunnel runs underground along the base of the Temple Mount. It is an aqueduct that was used to bring fresh water from outside into the Temple area to clean the altar after the sacrifices. Temple Mount: This is the most sacred piece of land in the entire world. Here is where the Temple of the Most High God once stood in mighty splendor and could be seen from miles away. The Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. The Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosques has stood there since the 7th Century. Mt. Zion: Pilgrims will go up to Mt. Zion, and visit the Upper Room where Jesus served the Last Supper. Envision Jesus and His disciples lounging at a low table, they listened intently to the Master as He taught about the New Covenant. In addition to the Upper Room, Mt. Zion is believed to be the location of the tomb of King David. Golgotha and the Garden Tomb: Many believe this is the place where Jesus was crucified for the sins of all mankind. He was buried in the Garden Tomb, from which he arose after the third day. Victory over hell, death and the grave is ours, because He has risen. Jerusalem – Hotel, Breakfast, Dinner

Masada: Once the Palace of Herod, and then a refuge for Zealots, it is considered by some the Gamla of the South. En Gedi: En Gedi was a source of renewal and strength for David and his men as they fled King Saul. David would replenish in the living waters of En Gedi as we replenish in the Living Waters of God’s Word. “As a deer panteth after the water brooks, so my soul panteth after thee, my God”. (Psalms 42: 1) Qumran: – In this area are located the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found by a young shepherd boy. Legend has it John the Baptist once studied here with the Essenes.
